Category 1 - Students from good income families who can afford to send their children to school
These kind of students have no worries of school fee, books, pocket money, uniforms, shoes, etc. They don't need to do any household chores when they get back home from school because their parents can afford to hire servants. The only thing they do is to concentrate on their studies and other things that makes them enjoy their lives. They have all the comfort that money can give since their parents can afford. What made me wonder however, is, there are some students who fall under this category don't really enjoy their lives. Instead, the sufficient money that they have to spend, the comfort that their parents give, it seems it's just not enough. While their parents are expecting that giving all what they need is enough to concentrate on their studies for their good future, these students ruin their lives by bad influence of others. Why? That I can't answer because when I was a student I did not fall on that category :)
Category 2 - Students from good income families but don't want to fully depend from their parents.
These kind of students want to grow by learning how to be responsible with their own selves as much as they can. They want to explore their own world. They don't want to be spoon fed. Not that they don't want their parents to help them but they want their parents to be proud of them. They want to prepare themselves to handle a bigger responsibility as soon as they finish their studies.
Category 3 - Students from low income families or orphans who are determined to have a good future
These kind of students are determined to have a good future. They know that their parents cannot afford to send them to school for a higher education so they find all ways and means to earn money just to finish their studies. These kind of students are usually found in big countries with big populations...an example my country... Philippines. They apply from the scholarship programs offered by the Government and some big private companies hoping to pass the scholarship exam and can continue for higher education. However, they still need pocket money for their daily allowances, projects at school, books, clothing, etc., because as far as I know it is only the school fee that is free for them. So, they still need to find ways to earn for these needs. What they do, they work part time jobs...usually working during the day and studying during the night. My example here are my two nephews who successfully finish their courses with the help of the scholarship program and part time jobs. One is an engineer who is working for a big company with a high position and the other one is a first lieutenant now which is GOD willing soon to be a captain next year.
Category 4 - Students who fall under category 3 but don't have strong determination for their good future
These kind of students maybe just accept the situation and let it be. Some of them however, find ways by not studying for higher education but exploring their GOD given inner talents like singing, dancing, sales jobs which does not necessarily need a very high education but just good in communicating with people, and some skilled jobs where I know most of these kind of students (out of school youths as it is called) became rich by their own special talents. Sadly, those who feel disappointed, frustrated because of the situation eventually begin to feel full of regrets that will lead them to their dark world by doing things for easy money. They will start to make friends with the bad elements of the society who are dealing with illegal business like drugs, smuggling, and many other bad things which will ruin not just these helpless out of school youths, but the society and the country.
From this point of view, may I suggest something for all students and out of school youths no matter under which category you may belong. All of you have your own group of friends in and out of the school campus and during your break time or free time enjoying each others' company while having snacks, or waiting for the bell to ring for the next subject or appointment, maybe by sharing something with each other, you can be able to help each other.
I will point out one example here. This is about how to earn money and at the same time helping each other. Say...one of you have a mouth spray then you share your experience of the benefit of the mouth spray to your friend and your friend's friends ans so on. Mouth spray is very handy and I'm sure it's a necessity too because while you all have conversation each one of you is confident to have a fresh breath. Before you know it, at the end of the month you will be surprised to recieve something just by "sharing".
This is just a suggestion and in case you want to know more please feel free to email me at ceislamiah1@gmail.com. I will tell you more...
That's a very good observation -- and a keen one, too. Indeed, there are many things that can be done and achieved both from what are learned in school and outside. Learning can only go so far. It is the application of what is learned that makes one the person he/she aims to be. Nice blog. Keep up the good work
