Your Baby is God's Precious Gift...Above Everything!

Babies need a loving, relaxed atmosphere as well as attention to their physical requirements for them to develop their full potentialities.

Show your baby that you love him right from the beginning. Cuddling and soft words of affection will make him feel that this
new world is a pretty nice place to be in. Enjoy your baby at his stage of development. Comfort him when he cries whether he just wants attention until he can get along without it.

You as a mother is the most important figure for your baby. But it is also essential for him to have a fatherly love and to be a part of his little world from the beginning.

Fathers usually differ from mothers where showing love to a child is concerned because "some" Dad's are strict and wants to discipline their child very early which make a child feel scared. This is the reason why usually a child takes time to feel that his father is a part of his life...but eventually he will understand and gets well closer to his father.

In nursing your baby, as a rule, babies are nursed on one breast at a feeding, alternating with each feeding to empty the breast completely, which prevent the milk from diminishing. Emptying the breast by hand after your baby is finished is to encourage the supply of milk. When it is over, burp the baby by holding him over your shoulder so any air he has swallowed will be expelled. Another method is to hold your baby in your lap, letting him forward slightly with your support and rub or pat his back.

Vomiting or "spit up" of your baby right after being fed does not mean anything, provided your baby is healthy and is gaining weight. However, if your baby does not seem well and vomits in a large amount more often than once a day especially when he vomits with great force, be sure to consult your doctor.

Colic, attacks of your baby until they are about three years old. Putting him on his stomach and patting him on his back may help. You can consult your doctor for him to determine what is responsible for these attacks to get eliminated. Your baby's diet needs alternation. He may also need more relaxation and less stimulation.

Young babies usually have between one and ten bowel movements a day, and these are usually quite loose. Breast-fed babies and bottle-fed babies have different stool color. Breast-fed have a green-yellow stool while bottle-fed have a more pasty, moist and yellow bowel movement.

If you are a new mother, taking advice from experienced mothers and your physician is a big help. What your baby needs most of all is you. Without the mother's tender and loving care who knows what's always best for her baby, your baby will not help him grow and be healthy.
