Know Your Stomach, Intestines and Colon System

Small intestine is measured 22 feet long and the large intestine is four and a half feet long. The esophagus (tube) connects the throat to the stomach while duodenum is the place where the stomach ends and the small intestine begins. These are the main tubes from the pancreas, the liver and the gallbladder where it discharge juices
and bile into it which makes it very important. Frequently, ulcers are located in the duodenum.

When food is churned up, which acted upon by juices and digested in the stomach and intestines, the residue is being eliminated through the rectum and to the anus. The mouth where the food is chewed and mixed with saliva is part of digestive gastrointestinal system.

Choosing the right foods and drinks is a precautionary measure against any infectious diseases that will not irritate your digestive system.

One example of irritable substance to your digestive system is alcohol drink. This is produced by the action of yeast ( a form of fermentation) on grain such as corn, barley, rye and potatoes. It is the process of distilling this fermented product that pure alcohol is obtained. Beer is also processed by fermenting cereals such as barley using hops for flavoring.

Always make sure to consult your doctor if you suffer from symptoms like nausea, vomiting, excessive belching, fullness or burning sensations in the abdomen, cramps, constipation and diarrhea. If in the situation of blood streaked, blackish, colorless or smelly stools, be sure not to delay, see your doctor immediately.
